Original brick buttresses and an abandoned chimney revealed during demolition informed the layout of this prewar apartment. Salvaged NYC brick was acquired to match the existing, creating a new continuous wall in the reconfigured kitchen and living room. Bathrooms provide an escape from the city, a moment of calm.
